Hi all

What are the perspectives on embedding CORBA Time Service into the
omniORB distribution? Is this a "no-go"?

If you want to implement it then do it well and I am sure that Duncan would
be happy to incorporate it.

There isn't an omniORB time service at the moment. If you implement one,
I'll consider adding it to the release, or it could be a stand-alone
project.

Cheers,

Duncan.

I'm pretty new to both CORBA and Open Source development, so please bear
with me when I answer back: Couldn't one just use the TimeService
implemented in the Mico Distribution? It is also licensed under GPL.

I expect so, yes. The Mico time service compiled to use Mico will
definitely work as a CORBA server for omniORB clients. How easy it would
be to port the Mico time service to use omniORB instead of Mico depends
on how Mico-specific the code is.

Cheers,

Duncan.
